The course PADI Advanced Open Water is designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification. This course gives you supplementary techniques and experiences through specific diving sessions in different domains among the ones listed next:
- Underwater navigator (mandatory)
- Deep diver (mandatory)
- Peak performance buoyancy
- Multilevel diver
- Digital underwater photographer
- Sidemount diver
- Dry suit diver
- Night diver
- Nitrox diver (enriched air)
- Boat diver
- Search and recovery diver
Prerequisites:
- To be at least 15 years old
- Good health (medical certificate required)
- Having the Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or an equivalent certificate
The course covers:
- Presentation of new activities and methods for gaining underwater autonomy
- The theory of deep diving and the associated physiological effects
- The different ways of using an underwater compass
- Explanations about underwater location, estimate a distance, get visual location points and time management
The course comprises:
- One underwater orientation dive
- One deeper dive (between 18 and 30 metres deep)
- Three chosen thematic dives
- The theory of each chosen thematic dive
Scuba gear used:
- Base scuba diving equipment, including an underwater compass
- The required equipment for doing the chosen thematic dives will also provided: you may be asked to use underwater photography material, diving torch, dry suits, parachutes or even other equipment.
The price includes:
- Inscription fees
- School fees
- The equipement and the specific diving material lent by the school
- 5 dives
- The license
The price does not include:
- The mandatory medical visit
- The fins, mask and snorkel, mandatory during the 1st course
- The gloves and boots
What you can do once certified:
- Dive autonomously up to a maximum depth of 30 meters
- The dives of this course may be accredited if you chose to follow the correspondent speciality course (see specialities list)
